Assistant Manager Pension Retirement Medical Benefits
1. Position Summary
The Assistant Manager will support the pension and retirement medical benefits administration to a portfolio of PIACL pensioners and their eligible family members. The role involves maintaining beneficiary records, coordinating with banks for pension disbursement, assisting in medical insurance claim processing, and ensuring smooth communication with retirees.
2. Key Responsibilities
a. Pension Administration Support
- Maintain pensioner records, life certificates, and family pension eligibility documentation.
- Coordinate with designated scheduled banks for pension disbursement, reconciliation of payments, and addressing pensioners’ queries.
- Assist in processing arrears, commutation, and pension adjustment cases.
b. Retirement Medical Benefits Administration
- Maintain updated beneficiary records for medical insurance coverage.
- Liaise with insurance companies for claim processing, issuance of health cards, and facilitation of medical reimbursements.
- Track claim status, pending approvals, and escalate unresolved cases.
c. Beneficiary Facilitation
- Act as a first point of contact for pensioners and their families on pension and health benefit issues.
- Provide guidance on claim submission procedures, pension rules, and policy updates.
- Support grievance redressal by logging, tracking, and resolving complaints.
d. Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure documentation is complete and in compliance with SBP Pension Bank Accounts Regulations, SECP rules, and company policies.
- Support preparation of reports for audits, internal controls, and management review.
- Maintain secure and confidential records of beneficiaries.
e. Operational Support
- Assist in preparing MIS reports on pension payments, outstanding claims, and insurance performance.
- Support vendor management activities, including monitoring insurer and bank service levels.
- Contribute to digitization and automation initiatives for pension and benefits management.
3. Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Chartered Accountant (CA), ACCA, CPA, CFA, CMA, Bachelor’s with 16 years of education in Finance, HR, Public Administration, or related discipline from an HEC-recognized university.
- Training in Pension Administration / Insurance / HRMS systems will be an added advantage.
Experience:
- 03 years of experience in pension administration, insurance claims, HR operations, or financial services.
- Experience in public sector enterprises, banks, or insurance companies will be preferred.
Maximum Age:
40 years
Skills & Competencies:
- Basic knowledge of pension rules, SBP pension account regulations, and health insurance processes.
- Strong record-keeping, data management, and reconciliation skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for pensioner interaction.
- Proficiency in MS Office and HR/ERP systems.
- Integrity, attention to detail, and service orientation.

- Accuracy of pensioner and medical beneficiary records.
- Timeliness of pension and claim processing.
- Beneficiary satisfaction and grievance resolution.
