General Manager (Accounts & Finance)

  1. Position Summary

The General Manager (Accounts & Finance) will be responsible for providing strategic financial leadership, ensuring robust financial governance, compliance, reporting, and internal controls for PIA Holding Company and its subsidiaries. The role will oversee accounting, treasury, corporate finance, budgeting, taxation, and financial risk management in alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives and applicable laws, regulations, and international best practices.

  1. Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the corporate vision, mission, and long-term goals of PIAHCL.
  • Lead financial planning, forecasting, and annual budgeting process across the holding company and its subsidiaries.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to the Board of Directors, CEO, and senior leadership to support decision-making.

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee timely preparation and presentation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS and statutory requirements.
  • Ensure accurate management reporting, variance analysis, and financial performance reviews.
  • Drive the automation and digital transformation of finance processes for efficiency and transparency.

Governance, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure strict compliance with Companies Act, SECP regulations, PSX regulations, SOE Act, corporate governance codes, tax laws, and other statutory requirements.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Oversee risk identification, assessment, and mitigation in financial operations.
  • Liaise with external/internal auditors and regulatory bodies, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Treasury & Corporate Finance

  • Manage liquidity, cash flow, and working capital requirements to optimize financial resources.
  • Oversee banking relationships, investment portfolios, debt restructuring, and funding strategies.
  • Support strategic transactions, restructuring, divestitures, and privatization-related activities.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and high performance.
  • Build capacity within the finance function through training, development, and succession planning.
  • Promote collaboration with cross-functional teams for financial discipline and cost efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, or Master’s in Finance /Accounting from a recognized institution.

Experience:

  • At least 15 years of post-qualification experience, with minimum 5 years in a senior financial leadership role in a large corporate, preferably in a listed, group-level / holding company, or state-owned enterprises.

Maximum Age:

50 years

Skills & Competencies:

  1. Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, corporate finance, taxation, treasury, and ERP systems.
  2. Proven experience in financial strategy, corporate restructuring, and compliance with regulators.
  3. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  4. High integrity, professional ethics, and ability to operate in a complex governance environment.

  • Timeliness and accuracy of financial statements and reports.
  • Compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
  • Effective treasury and liquidity management.
  • Implementation of internal control framework and risk mitigation measures.
  • Achievement of budgetary and cost-control targets.
  • Contribution to successful restructuring/privatization initiatives.
